Hi, there. Thanks for visiting. This is your one-stop shop to find all of the articles I’ve written for various websites. I mainly write for San Francisco Moms Blog and Mid-Peninsula Moms Blog where I’m the Managing Editor, but I’ve been published on a variety of sites, which is why I created this online portfolio. You can find my articles on Motherly, Scary Mommy, YourTango, Sammiches & Psych Meds/ Mock Mom, Her View From Home, and Bonbon Break.
I didn’t intend to start writing about parenting. In fact, I hadn’t written anything beside corporate emails in a very long time, but the opportunity came to me, I thought, “Why not?” and now I’m hooked. It’s so much fun to deconstruct the big and small moments of life, document, and share them to see how they connect with you.
I decided not to name this site something mom-related because I talk about more than “mom stuff” in real life (I really do!), so maybe one day, I’ll write about it, too.
Before deciding to stay home with my two kids, I lived the corporate life as an HR professional, and I always went by my formal name, Rebecca. At home, for personal introductions, I would say, “Becky.” My husband used to describe me as being in “Rebecca mode” Monday through Friday—stressed and serious—and switching to “Becky mode” on the weekends—fun and easy going.
Now, my life is one big blend of every emotion every day, so the lines between Rebecca and Becky are blurred, and it felt like an apt name for this site. Join me as I write about the world of stay-at-home moms, preschool and the playground. Sometimes I’m funny. Sometimes I’m not, but I’ll always be honest.
Happy reading, and please check back for more!
Oh, and I’m on Instagram (mainly pics of my kids) and Twitter, where I mostly complain to companies with poor customer service—I now have a direct line to the head of the Executive Services Team for my cell phone company, but that’s a story for another day…
